RAM Week 53: Radio Mirchi still going strong

The radio station loses points in Bengaluru and Kolkata; gains in Delhi and Mumbai.

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 53 is out. Here is an update on the four RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi is No. 1 in the city with a market share of 16.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.6 percentage points over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 16.5 per cent.

Radio City is stable at its second position with a market share of 14.2 per cent, without registering any loss or gain over previous week's ratings. The radio station's last four weeks' average market share is 14.5 per cent.

Red FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 13.2 per cent, registering a loss of 0.4 percentage points. Its last four weeks' average market share is 13.3 per cent.

Big FM is at the fourth position in Mumbai with a market share of 12.2 per cent; its last four weeks' market share also turns out to be 12.3 per cent.

Air FM Gold occupies the fifth spot with a market share of 11.3 per cent. The station's previous week's share was 11.4 per cent.

Fever FM is No. 6 in the city with a market share of 11.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.1 per cent. The radio station's last four weeks' market share is registered at 11.2 per cent.

Radio One is placed seventh with a market share of 6.4 per cent and a gain of 0.6 percentage points. Vividh Bharati has a market share of 4.4 per cent, with a loss of 0.1 percentage points.

Among the other stations in Mumbai in Week 53 are AIR FM Rainbow, which has a market share of 4.2 per cent, followed by Oye FM (3.8 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 24.8 per cent. It saw a gain of a massive 0.9 percentage points.

The next two spots are occupied by Fever FM and AIR FM Gold, with market shares of 17.7 per cent and 16.1 per cent respectively. While Fever FM has lost 0.1 percentage points; AIR FM Gold has registered a loss of 0.9 percentage points. The average market shares for the stations are 18 per cent and 16.2 per cent respectively.

Red FM is at No. 4 with a market share of 10.2 per cent, registering a gain of 0.1 percentage points. Radio City is at the fifth position with a market share of 8.2 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 percentage points over the previous week.

In Week 53, Big FM and Radio One have garnered market shares of 8.3 per cent and 5.3 per cent respectively, occupying the sixth and seventh positions. The average market share of Red FM is 7.8 per cent and that of Radio One is 5.7 per cent.

Next in line are Oye! FM and AIR Hit FM, with market shares of 2.5 per cent and 2.3 per cent respectively.

Bengaluru

As usual, Big FM leads the pack in Bengaluru with a market share of 20.2 per cent, registering a gain of 0.1 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 20.3 per cent.

Radio Mirchi, at No. 2, has a market share of 16.9 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage points. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 17.2 per cent.

Fever FM is at No. 3 and has a market share of 14.9 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage points.

Radio City follows with a market share of 13.1 per cent, which is 0.1 percentage points less than its previous week's rating.

Red FM, at No. 5, has a market share of 9.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.7 percentage points. It is followed by Radio One, which has a market share of 7.8 per cent, registering a gain of 0.1 percentage points in comparison to Week 52.

At No. 7, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 7 per cent, registering a loss of 0.3 percentage points. Vividh Bharati follows with a market share of 5.6 per cent, registering a loss of 0.1 percentage points over the previous week.

Among the other stations in Bengaluru in Week 53 are Radio Indigo, which has a market share of 2.8 per cent, followed by Gyan Vani (1.9 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20 per cent, registering a loss of 0.5 percentage points over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks is 20.3 per cent.

Big FM is No. 2 with a market share of 18.4 per cent, gaining 0.3 percentage points over the previous week. Friends FM and Amar FM are at No. 3 and No. 4 positions respectively. Friends FM registered a market share of 11.4 per cent, while Amar FM recorded a market share of 10.8 per cent.

Fever FM is placed fifth with a market share of 9.5 per cent, without registering any gain or loss compared to last week's ratings. Red FM is at No. 6 with a market share of 8.4 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 percentage points.

Radio One is at No. 7 with a market share of 6.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.1 percentage points over the previous week. Oye! FM follows next with a market share of 5 per cent and with a gain of 0.2 per cent compared to the previous week.

This week, among other stations in Kolkata, Air FM Gold and AIR FM Rainbow have secured market shares of 3.5 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively.
