Radio Mirchi loses market share marginally, Big FM gains: Week 5

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 5 is out. Here is an update on the four RAM markets.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi is No. 1 in the city with a market share of 16.5 per cent, despite registering a loss of 0.1 per cent over the previous week. Its average market share for the last four weeks stands at 16.1 per cent.

Big FM is at the second position with a market share of 13.4 per cent, while its last four weeks' average market share is 12.5 per cent.

Radio City is at No. 3 and has a market share of 13.3 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 per cent. Its last four weeks' average market share is 13.6 per cent.

Red FM is at fourth position in Mumbai with a market share of 12.2 per cent, its last four weeks' market share being 13.1 per cent.

Air FM2-Gold occupies the fifth spot with a market share of 11.1 per cent. The station's previous week's rating was 10.7. Fever FM is No. 6 in the city with a market share of 11 per cent, registering a gain of 0.5 per cent.

Radio One is placed seventh, with a market share of 6.1 per cent, having gained 0.1 per cent. Vividh Bharati has a market share of 5.1 per cent, with a gain of 0.3 per cent.

Among the other stations in Mumbai in Week 5, AIR FM1-Rainbow, with a market share of 4.9 per cent is followed by Oye! FM, with a 3.5 per cent market share.

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 23.5 per cent, registering a loss of 1.6 per cent. The radio station's average market share for the last four weeks is 23.8 per cent.

Fever FM and AIR FM2-Gold occupy the next two spots, with market shares of 19.1 per cent and 15.7 per cent, respectively. While Fever FM has gained 0.9 per cent, AIR FM2-Gold has also gained 0.2 per cent as compared to the previous week. Their average market shares in the last four weeks are 18.8 and 16.4 per cent, respectively.

Red FM is at No. 4 with a market share of 11.4 per cent, registering a gain of 0.2 per cent. Radio City is at fifth position with a market share of 9.2 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 per cent over the previous week.

In Week 5, Big FM and Radio One have garnered market shares of 6.7 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively, occupying sixth and seventh positions, as compared to the respective market shares of 6.3 and 4.9 in the previous week.

Next in line are Oye! FM, AIR FM1-Rainbow and HIT 95 FM, with market shares of 2.9, 2.1 and 2.0 per cent, respectively.

Bengaluru

As always, Big FM leads in Bengaluru with a market share of 19.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.1 percent, as compared to 18.8 per cent, the average market share in the last four weeks.

Radio Mirchi at No. 2 has a market share of 18.2 per cent, registering a loss of 0.2 per cent. The average market share for the last four weeks has been 17.7 per cent. Fever FM at No. 3 has a market share of 15.1 per cent, registering a loss of 0.4 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks was 15.1 per cent.

Radio City is at fourth position with a market share of 13.5 per cent, which is 0.2 per cent more than last week.

Red FM is at No.5 with a market share of 9.5 per cent, which is 0.5 percent more compared to last week.

AIR FM1-Rainbow follows with a market share of 8.2 per cent, registering a gain of 0.4 per cent as compared to Week 4.

At No. 7, Radio One has a market share of 6.9 per cent, registering a loss of 0.4 per cent. AIR FM1-Vividh Bharati follows with a market share of 5.6 per cent, without registering any loss or gain over the previous week. The radio station's average market share for the past two weeks is 6.0 per cent.

Among the other stations in Bengaluru in Week 5 are Radio Indigo, which has a market share of 2.7 per cent, followed by Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent).

Kolkata

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 20.7 percentage points, registering a loss of 0.2 per cent over last week. Big FM and Aamar FM are placed second and third, respectively.

Big FM has a market share of 17.3 per cent, registering a gain of 0.1 per cent compared to the previous week. Aamar FM has a market share of 11.9 registering a gain of 0.3 per cent. Both the radio station's average market share for the last two weeks are 17.4 and 12.0 per cent.

Friends FM holds the fourth position with a market share of 11.8 per cent registering a loss of 0.3 per cent. Fever FM occupies the fifth place in the city with a market share of 10.0 per cent. Its average market share for the last four weeks was 9.3 per cent.

Red FM and Oye! FM are next in line, with market shares of 8.0 per cent and 5.0 per cent, respectively. Radio One follows with a market share of 4.9 per cent.

In Week 5, among the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM2-Gold has a market share of 3.5 per cent, followed by AIR FM1-Rainbow (2.8 per cent), Akashavani (1.8 per cent) and Power FM (1.5 per cent).
