Starcom MediaVest Group's digital head Pushkar Sane quits

Sane was chief digital officer, North and South Asia, and global head of social marketing practice at Starcom MediaVest Group.

Pushkar Sane, chief digital officer, North and South Asia, and global head of social marketing practice at Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG), has put in his papers. He was based in Hong Kong. His territory included India, Greater China, Korea, and Japan.

Sane has confirmed the development to afaqs!. "I am currently serving my notice period, and this is my last week at Starcom MediaVest Group," he told afaqs!. However, he declined to reveal his next destination.

Sane has about 14 years of work experience. He started his advertising in 1998, when he joined FCB Ulka (Mumbai) in client servicing. He was part of the team, which started the digital division of FCB Ulka (India).

In 2002, Sane was transferred to the FCB Hong Kong (HK) office, where he was assigned the task of establishing the data-driven CRM business of the agency.

In 2004, he moved to Euro RSCG (HK), and after a brief stint there, joined Starcom in early 2005 as digital strategy director, APAC. In 2007, he was promoted to the position of general manager, and then, in 2008, to chief digital officer, North and South Asia, at SMG.

During his tenure in the three agencies, Sane handled brands like General Motors, Samsung, P&G, Tata Motors, UBS, Aircel, Tata Teleservices, Cartier, and Hong Kong Tourism.
