Lubna Khan has joined JWT as associate vice-president and strategic planning director. At JWT, Khan will handle the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) account, which includes new product development and innovation, apart from Iodex and Horlicks.
Speaking to afaqs!, Khan says, "It's a nice place. People here are very supportive of original thinking and believe in doing path-breaking work."
Khan has about 15 years of experience in the industry. After obtaining a Masters degree in Psychological Approaches to Health from the University of Leeds, she began her career as a clinical therapist at Safdarjung Hospital in 1998.
After a year, she moved to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where she worked for a period of nine months. For the next five years, she worked as communication specialist in the health, wellness and fitness industry.
In 2005, she joined BBC World Service Trust as communication specialist, where she worked for about three years (till 2007). Later, she moved to Rediffusion Y&R as partner, strategic planning. At Rediffusion, she worked for one year and seven months. Her next destination was Wunderman International, where she joined as brand planning director. Subsequently, she joined Cheil Worldwide as senior planning director.
