BharatMatrimony launches Matrimony Day Xpress

A branded van will traverse across eight cities and encourage married people to participate in a signature campaign, sharing experiences from their married lives.

The matrimony website BharatMatrimony kicked off the Matrimony Day celebrations on March 30 with an all-India signature campaign. The company, which had introduced the concept of Matrimony Day on April 14, 2009, aims to turn the spotlight on the positive aspects of marriage and encourage people to experience the joys of matrimony.

This year's campaign, known as the 'Matrimony Day Xpress' campaign, consists of a branded van that is travelling across various cities. Miss India World, Manasvi Mamgai, flagged it off from Mumbai.

The van will be taken to cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Kolkata in the form of a road show, where celebrities and dignitaries will be invited from each city to help draw in the crowds. The campaign provides an opportunity for married couples to include their signatures and share experiences from their marriages.

BharatMatrimony has also designed a marriage slogan contest to coincide with the celebrations. The campaign, which was kicked off on March 21, will culminate just two days before Matrimony Day on April 12 in Kolkata, where the winner of the contest will also be announced in the Grand Finale.

Murugavel Janakiraman, founder and chief executive officer, BharatMatrimony, says, "It has been our endeavour to promote a unique day to celebrate the joys of matrimony and promote the strongest and most enduring of all relationships. Matrimony Day also provides an opportunity for people to understand and appreciate the rich Indian marriage traditions, which uphold the unity of not just two people, but two families. The signature campaign on wheels will travel across the major cities of India, leaving a trail of fun, excitement and positive feelings about matrimony."

BharatMatrimony.com, which was launched in 1997, has seen more than 20 million members worldwide and has been recognised by the Limca Book of Records for the highest number of marriages online.
