At Asianet, he will be responsible for three entertainment channels operated by the company, including Asianet, Asianet Plus and Asianet Middle-East.

Brittas, who belongs to a small village of Kannur, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Trissur Kerala Verma College. After a Master's degree from the same college, he shifted to Delhi and joined the Jawaharlal Nehru University to complete his M. Phil, and later, his Ph.D.

He began his career as bureau chief of Deshabhimani in Delhi. Some of his important stints include reporting for the General Elections between 1981 and 1999, covering the Babri Masjid demolition, and the General Election in Nepal soon after the death of King Birendra. Brittas was also present in Baghdad during the Iraq war. He is the youngest correspondent to get the Central Hall pass in parliament.

For the record, Asianet and Asianet Plus became the second set of Malayalam channels to go paid in Kerala in 2010, after Sun Network's free-to-air (FTA) channels Kiran TV and Surya TV.
