Zeel elevates Joy Chakraborthy to executive director -- revenue and niche channels

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has promoted Joy Chakraborthy to executive director -- revenue and niche channels, with immediate effect.

Prior to this, Chakraborthy was chief revenue officer and chief operating officer -- niche channels.

Confirming the development to afaqs!, Chakraborthy says, "Yes, I have been elevated to executive director with immediate effect."

The network is yet to find a new person to fill in Chakraborthy's earlier post.

Chakraborthy will continue to report to Punit Goenka, managing director and chief executive officer, Zeel. Also, his job objective will continue to be the maximisation of the company's value share, strategising and initiating value innovations.

Chakraborthy has 15 years of experience in strategic media sales across media organisations, including The Times of India Group and STAR Network. He graduated from the National Defence Academy and completed his Masters in Marketing Management from NMIMS. More recently, he also concluded the Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School.
