Leo Burnett's Greeshma Jos and Ganesh Nayak win AAAI-Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition 2011

The brief given to the competitors was to develop a print advertisement based on the theme 'Don't Bribe, Follow Rules'.

Greeshma Jos, copywriter and Ganesh Nayak, art director, Leo Burnett Mumbai were adjudged the winners of the AAAI-Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition 2011. The competition is organised by the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) every year to encourage young creative talent in the advertising industry. In its 11th year now, the competition, supported by the Times Group, is a national initiative aimed at providing an opportunity for international exposure.

The brief given to the competitors was to develop a print advertisement based on the theme 'Don't Bribe, Follow Rules'. In all, 165 entries were received for the competition.

The winning entry showed a transparent glass table, which portrays the fact that attempts at offering bribe money in corporate or government offices, either above or below the table, can be noticed immediately by others.

The two-phased judging process involved jury members such as Josy Paul, chairperson and national creative director, BBDO India, and Tista Sen, senior vice-president, executive creative director and creative head, JWT Mumbai.

The winning team will be flying off to the Cannes Advertising Festival in June to participate in the prestigious International Young Lions Creative Competition. The Times Group, the official festival representatives of Cannes in India, will bear all the expenses of the wining team's trip to Cannes.

Announcing the result of the competition, Vinod Nair, convener, AAAI-Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition 2011, says, "The Times Group and AAAI are giving a rare opportunity to young creatives in India to participate in Cannes Lions, and compete with the very best young talent in the world."

The runners-up team comprises Nishant Shah, copywriter and Neeta Srikanth, art director, Publicis Ambience Bengaluru.

The winners of AAAI-Cannes Young Lions Creative Competition 2010 were Pradeep Ravindran, art director and Shruti Sadani, copywriter, Mudra Bengaluru.
