Divya Gururaj, managing director, MediaCom India, has been promoted as head of MediaCom's South and Southeast Asia operations. Gururaj will move to MediaCom's head office in Singapore, in July. She will report to Alex Crowther, chief executive officer, Asia-Pacific, MediaCom.
In her new role, Gururaj will help in driving market growth with business planning, new business development, investment plans, and day-to-day operations.
Gururaj holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Delhi University, and is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow. She started her career as area sales manager, with Blowplast in 1992. After two years, she moved to JWT (then HTA) as media supervisor, and worked there for six years. Later when the media division of JWT was floated as a separate outfit in the form of Mindshare, she moved along as business director. In 2006, she was promoted as general manager at Mindshare. She moved to MediaCom in 2007.
