Ajay Naqvi, head, Mudra North and East, resigns

Naqvi had joined the agency about a year ago; according to sources, he will join Coca-Cola India.

Ajay Naqvi, executive vice-president and head, Mudra North and East, has put in his papers at the agency. Naqvi had moved into Mudra in May 2010 from Rediffusion-Y&R, where he was national business head for the Airtel account.

The development has been confirmed by reliable senior officials in the industry, who say that during Naqvi's tenure, the Delhi branch of Mudra witnessed a creative resurgence. He changed the financial situation of the branch, turning it into a profitable unit.

Although Naqvi could not be reached at the time of filing this report, the grapevine has it that he is set to join beverage major Coca-Cola India.

Naqvi has more than 10 years of experience, having worked with various agencies such as Ogilvy India, Leo Burnett and Bates Asia, besides Rediffusion-Y&R. He has worked on a variety of brands during his career, including Castrol, Indian Oil, Amaron, Tata Motors, DHL, HPCL, Nokia and Heineken. The noteworthy campaigns he has worked on include Sumo Victa (Kuch log Sumo chalate hain), and Safari (Reclaim your life).
