Amandeep Khurana has joined Madison Media Plus as chief operating officer (COO). Khurana will be based in New Delhi and will lead the Airtel account. He joins the agency after his most recent stint as head, marketing, services and consumer insights, at Spice Global Group.
An IIM-Ahmedabad graduate, Khurana has over 15 years of experience over various facets of marketing, and has had stints in the planning department, at creative agencies such as Rediffusion-Y&R and Bates 141.
"My previous roles in creative agencies and on the clients' side of the business, sensitised me to the need for boundary-less thinking. Mining consumer insights and applying them on a continuum of consumer touch-points is the need of the hour. At Madison, there is the opportunity to initiate a practice of 'strategic planning sans frontiers'," says Khurana.
Arumugam tells afaqs! that Khurana's immediate mandate on the job is to "delight" the clients with his work and to come up with several first-to-market and first-to-media initiatives that would propel Airtel to the next level.
After a review last year, Airtel decided to continue with Madison. The agency retained the business, competing against the likes of TME, Starcom MediaVest, Percept, mediaedge:cia and Lintas Media Group.
Madison has been handling the media duties of the telecom service provider for over six years now.
