In an official communiqué, the digital agency says that Bagchi's mandate will be to consolidate and grow the agency's portfolio in the CRM business, and make fresh inroads in the digital marketing and branding arena.

Kanika Mathur, president, Digitas India, says, "We are excited about the decade of brand management experience that Bagchi brings to the team. With his cross-functional exposure across a great mix of brands and categories -- from FMCG and healthcare, to telecom and auto -- we will be able to further strengthen our client portfolio."

Bagchi has about 10 years of experience in the advertising and marketing space. He has worked with companies such as Sanofi-aventis, Pfizer and AstraZeneca, and agencies such as Sudler & Hennessey and JWT, apart from Tribal DDB.

Recently, Publicis Groupe split Solutions Digitas into two separate, stand-alone companies under its umbrella -- Digitas India and Solutions India. While Digitas India will specialise in digital creative, technology, strategic planning and CRM services, Solutions India will deal with retail and experiential marketing services.
