Top GECs witness dip in GRPs, except Star Plus

Star Plus, the Hindi GEC from the STAR stable, has once again retained its No. 1 spot with 307 GRPs in its pocket for the week ended September 10.

During Week 37, except Star Plus, all the top players in the Hindi GEC space slowed down on their viewership ratings, shedding numbers, both in terms of GRPs as well as channel shares.

Star Plus, the Hindi GEC from the STAR stable, has once again retained its No. 1 spot with 307 GRPs (300 GRPs in the previous week) in its pocket for the week ended September 10 (TAM, C&S 4+, HSM).

Its relative channel share has also moved up from 22.7 per cent in Week 36, to 24.1 per cent in Week 37.

Sony Entertainment Television continues to hold on to the second spot even after witnessing a 15 point drop in its GRPs -- from 258 GRPs to 243 GRPs. Its relative share has also dropped from 19.6 per cent, to 19.1 per cent.

Colors, at the No. 3 spot, has dropped from 249 GRPs to 233 GRPs, while its relative share has fallen to 18.2 per cent (18.9 per cent in Week 36).

The fourth player in the Hindi GEC space, Zee TV, has seen a fall in its channel share, as well as GRPs. Its score of 198 GRPs in Week 36 fell to 181 points in this week, while its relative share fell from 15 per cent to 14.2 per cent.

The fifth player, SAB TV, too, lost five GRPs during the week to stand at 112 GRPs. Meanwhile, it registered a relative share of 8.8 per cent for the week (8.9 per cent in the previous week).

Following next are Imagine TV and STAR One at the sixth and seventh spots, respectively. While the former has registered 68 GRPs and 5.3 per cent share, the latter has scored 41 GRPs, with a relative share at 3.2 per cent.

Next in line, Sahara One and DD1 are at 31 GRPs and 30 GRPs, respectively. The relative shares are at 2.5 per cent and 2.3 per cent.

STAR Utsav, meanwhile, is at 26 GRPs, while its relative share is 2 per cent.

Saathiya Saath Nibhana (Star Plus) leads the list of the 10 most-watched programmes, clocking a TVR of 6.17, followed by Balika Vadhu (Colors) and Kaun Banega Crorepati (Sony), with TVRs of 5.19 and 5.03, respectively.

The fourth most-watched programme is Uttaran, with 4.87 TVR. Pratigya (4.05 TVR) and Bade Achche Lagte Hai (3.91 TVR) follow next. Pavitra Rishta, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Crime Patrol and Sasural Simar Ka are also a part of the Top 10 list.
