ABC elects Sam Balsara as its chairman
The chairman and managing director of Madison World will head the chair for the year 2011-2012.
Sam Balsara, chairman and managing director of Madison World, has been elected the chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for the year 2011-12. Balsara has been a member of the Bureau's Council of Management since 2002, and was the deputy chairman of the bureau for the year 2010-2011.
T Venkattram Reddy of Deccan Chronicle Holdings, publisher member on the Council, was unanimously elected as the deputy chairman.
Other advertising agency representatives to have been elected as members on the Bureau's Council of Management for this year include Shashidhar Sinha of Universal McCann Erickson (India) as honorary secretary, Madhukar Kamath of Mudra Communications as honorary treasurer, and Vikram Sakhuja of GroupM India.
The publishers representatives include Shailesh Gupta of Jagran Prakashan, M Venkatesh of Hindustan Media Ventures, Amit Mathew of Malayala Manorama, Aritra Sarkar of ABP, I Venkat of Ushodaya Enterprises (Eenadu), Hormusji N Cama of The Bombay Samachar, and Devendra V Darda of Lokmat Media.
The advertisers representatives have names such as S M Ahmad of ITC, Ravi Pisharody of Tata Motors, Debabrata Mukherjee of Coca Cola India, and Anil Dua of Hero MotoCorp. Hormuzd Masani has been elected the secretary general of ABC.
