GEC Watch: Zee adds extra GRPs on the back of Zee Cine Awards

Riding on the back of the Zee Cine Awards, Zee TV, at No. 4, has managed to climb up the GRP charts - from 179 GRPs to 202 GRPs for the week ended February 11.

STAR Plus, the flagship Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) from the STAR stable, continues to lead the GEC flock in Week 6 with 273 GRPs, down from the 309 GRPs that it had registered in the previous week. Its relative share, too, dropped from 23.9 per cent to 21 per cent in the current week.

Sony, at No. 2, has pocketed 209 GRPs in the current week, as compared to 217 GRPs in the previous week. Its current relative channel has come down from 16.7 per cent to 16.1 per cent in Week 6.

At No. 3, Viacom 18's Hindi GEC Colors has garnered 208 GRPs, up from last week's 204 GRPs. Its relative channel share stands at 16 per cent, increasing from the15.7 per cent it registered in the previous week.

At No. 5, SAB TV has earned 142 GRPs, adding 9 GRPs to its last week's ratings (133 GRPs). Its relative share also went up from 10.3 per cent in Week 5 to 10.9 per cent in Week 6.

Meanwhile, Life OK has added 4 GRPs to its kitty to end the week with 87 points, as compared to 83 GRPs in the previous week. Its channel share is at 6.7 per cent, up from the 6.5 per cent that it had grabbed in the previous week.

Life OK is followed by Imagine TV at No. 7 with 57 GRPs, a rise of 2 points from previous week's 55 GRPs. Its relative share has also increased from 4.3 per cent in Week 5 to 4.4 per cent in the current week.

Sahara One stood at No. 8 with 46 GRPs, down from the 48 GRPs that it registered in the previous week. Its relative share, too, dropped from 3.7 per cent to 3.5 per cent.

Star Utsav and DD1 follow next with 39 and 33 GRPs, respectively. The two channels have registered relative channel shares of 3 per cent (up from 2.8 per cent) and 2.5 per cent (up from 1.8 per cent), respectively.

Next in line is Zee Smile, which garnered 6 GRPs, a fall from the 8 GRPs garnered in the previous week. It recorded a relative channel share of 0.5 per cent in the current week.

The first three spots in the Top 10 programmes on GECs are reserved by STAR's shows, Diya Aur Baati Hum (with 5.49 TVRs), Saathiya Saath Nibhana (with 5.22 TVRs) and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (with 4.83 TVRs).

Zee Cine Awards stood at the fourth spot, clocking a TVR of 4.38. Star Plus' Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (4.38 TVR) occupied the same spot as Zee Cine Awards. Color's Balika Vadhu, at the sixth position, clocked 4.24 TVRs. The other shows in the Top 10 list are C.I.D., Crime Patrol (both with 4.12 TVR), Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (3.88 TVR) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (3.84 TVRs).
