Nissan's Hover Automotive India appoints Nitish Tipnis as director, marketing and sales

His mandate will be to head all the activities related to sales, marketing, after-sales, training and dealer development at Hover Automotive India.

Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan India's sales and marketing partner, has appointed Nitish Tipnis as director, marketing and sales.

His mandate, that involves working on the entire Nissan portfolio, includes heading all the activities related to sales, marketing, after-sales, training and dealer development at Hover Automotive India.

Tipnis joins Hover from Future Group's Electronic Store Ezone, where he was the chief operating officer and president.

Interestingly, this is Tipnis' second innings with the Nissan family; he had served as chief executive of HAI in 2009 during the early stages of Nissan in India.

"We believe that his visionary strategic planning and deep knowledge of the domain will contribute immensely to achieve our corporate goals in marketing and sales of all the products under the Nissan umbrella," conveys G M Singh, vice-chairman and managing director, HAI, in an official communiqué.

Ishida Takayuki, managing director and chief executive officer, Nissan Motor India, adds, "The leadership of Tipnis will further strengthen Nissan's position in the Indian market place, help achieve our desired goals and meet the expectations of Indian customers."

Tipnis brings to the table 24 years of experience across marketing, sales, operations, corporate planning and new business development in the consumer durables industry. He started his career at Videocon and has, in the past, headed Reliance Digital, before his stint as president of Future Group's electronics store, Ezone.

In his career, he has led key consumer retail businesses and worked to achieve sustainable volumes, process redesign, revenue growth and profit enhancements.
