Grey has won the creative mandate for the Network18 Group's corporate account. The agency's Mumbai branch will handle this business.
The win is the result of a multi-agency pitch that saw the participation of several prominent agencies.
Grey will be required to work on building brand Network18. For starters, an ad campaign to highlight the intangible brand Network18 is on the cards. Sources claim that the upcoming communication will be akin to a corporate campaign in which the various arms, ventures and properties of the media conglomerate are likely to be leveraged.
For Grey, this win comes close on the heels of winning the creative mandate for horizontal website In.com, a part of Web18, which is the digital arm of the Network18 group.
The Network18 Group has interests in television, internet, entertainment, e-commerce, magazines and the mobile medium.
The group includes business news channels CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, general news channels CNN-IBN and IBN7, and IBN-Lokmat.
TV18 Broadcast operates a joint venture (JV) with Viacom, called Viacom18, which houses brands such as Colors, MTV, VH1 and Nick, and Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
SUN18 and AETN18 are brands that the group has launched through a strategic alliance and a JV, respectively.
Network18 also operates e-commerce properties such as HomeShop18 and Bookmyshow.com, amongst others. Additionally, through Network18, the group operates Newswire18 (a real time financial information and news platform), Infomedia18 (a player in the special interest publishing space), E18 (the group's event management venture) and Sport18 (its sports marketing venture).
Web18 is the digital arm of the Network18 group. Web18 comprises online platforms such as In.com, news-based websites IBNlive.com and Firstpost.com, finance-led website Moneycontrol.com, cricket-driven website CricketNext.com and its social media platform, Blaze, available at IBNLive.in.com/Blaze, amongst other digital offerings.First Published : June 21, 2012
