Pawan Jailkhani and Punit Pandey promoted at 9X Media

9X Media has promoted Jailkhani as chief revenue officer and Pandey as executive vice-president, new business.

9X Media, the music television network, has promoted Pawan Jailkhani, executive vice-president, sales as chief revenue officer. At the same time, Punit Pandey, erstwhile senior vice-president, sales will now take up as executive vice-president, new businesses.

In his new role, Jailkhani will be responsible for all forms of revenue across the existing six music television channels operated by the 9X Media Group. He will also be in charge of revenue for all future launches by 9X Media.

Pandey will be responsible for the new business initiatives of the network and will also continue to head the business aspect of the existing six music channels.

Jailkhani started his career with The Pioneer in business development in April, 1993. He shifted to Zee Network in 1995. He had his longest stint of 13 years at Zee, which he left as senior vice-president, sales. Later, he joined INX Media (currently known as 9X media) as senior vice-president, sales in August, 2008.

After about a year and a half, he was promoted as executive vice-president, sales at 9X Media in April, 2010.

Pandey joined United Database India as sales executive in 1988, right after completing graduation. Three years later, he moved on to join Mid Day as corporate sales executive. There, he was responsible for the ad sales for Mid Day, Sunday Mid Day, Inquilaab and Radio Mid Day.

In February 1994, he shifted to Zee Network as senior sales executive, handling advertising sales. He then moved on to join MTV India as account manager (advertising sales), in January, 1996.

Subsequently, in May 1999, he shifted to Rediff.com as sales head (West and South), where he worked for about three and a half years. He moved to Radio Mirchi in December, 2002.

Then on, after working for Reliance Communications for four years as general manager, he shifted to INX Media (currently known as 9X Media). He joined as vice-president, advertising sales in February, 2008 and was promoted as senior vice-president, 9XM.

For the records, 9X Media Group has added five music channels to its network since 2011, taking the total number of channels to six, which includes 9XM (a Bollywood music channel), 9X Tashan (Punjabi music channel), 9X Jhakaas (Marathi music channel), 9X Jalwa (Hindi music channel), 9XO (international music channel) and 9XM-UK, which is available on the Sky Digital platform.
