Senior sources in the industry have confirmed the development to afaqs! on the ground of anonymity.

While the joint venture was formed four years ago, the company has just begun its hunt for a creative agency. As part of the brief, it is looking for a road map for the brand in terms of communication in India. Agencies have been asked to design the complete communication strategy for the commercial vehicles brand.

While the pitch process is restricted to creative right now, the company may also call for a media pitch later.

For the record, Volvo-Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) is the 50:50 joint venture between Swedish company Volvo Group and Eicher Motors. The JV was set up in 2008 and in 2010, the company invested Rs 2,880 million in its Pithampur plant for manufacture and assembling of a new medium duty engine which the company plans to introduce in Volvo's trucks and buses worldwide over the years. The company currently claims to have about 3,500 employees.
