Following the live streaming of the Indian Premiere League and the French Open, YouTube has now taken a step forward to promote sports in India. Through an initiative titled 'It's Time You Cheer', it has launched a drive that invites all Indians to encourage the Indian Olympic squad and popularise Indian athletes at the same time.
As part of the initiative, YouTube will flag off the YouTube Bus that will travel through villages of athletes who have participated in the Olympics across Punjab and Haryana. The bus has 10 television screens with headphones and internet connection. Ten different games will be streamed live simultaneously on the television screens. People can go into the bus and watch their favourite players or games live in action. Google promoters in the bus will guide the visitors.
Through this initiative, YouTube aims to make people aware about sports and internet, reaching various villages and towns in India.

And what could be better than combining this effort with an initiative to gather more support for all the top-tier Indian athletes who will compete at the Olympics."
"The bus will cover mainly northern India including Punjab and Haryana, since we have only 14 days of the event and have to cover many villages," Katragadda adds.
The journey of the YouTube bus will kick off on July 26 at Gurgaon. It will move further to Sonipat, Bhiwani, Hissar, Kurukshetra, Dera Basi, Patiala and Faridkot, staying for one day at each place.
Moreover, YouTube has partnered with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to bring live coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games to India and 63 other countries and territories across Asia and sub-Saharan Africa on IOC's channel, www.youtube.com/olympic.
