Arvind Sharma elected president, AAAI for 2012-13

M G Parameswaran has been elected vice-president of the association. The immediate past president, Nagesh Alai, will be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI executive committee.

Arvind Sharma, chairman and chief executive officer, Indian subcontinent, Leo Burnett has been elected president of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) for the year 2012-13.

The decision was announced at the body's annual general meeting held on July 31.

The immediate past president, Nagesh Alai, executive director, India operations, Draftfcb Ulka Group will be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI executive committee.

Further, M G Parameswaran, executive director and chief executive officer, Draftfcb Ulka Mumbai Group has been elected vice-president of the association.

The other elected members of the executive committee for the ensuing year are Ganesh Baliga (managing director, Fifth Estate Communications); Ashish Bhasin (chairman, India and chief executive officer, Southeast Asia, Aegis Group); Nakul Chopra (chief executive officer, Publicis Communications, South Asia); Tanya Goyal (executive director, Mogae Group); Kunal Lalani (managing director, Crayons Advertising); Vinod Nair (managing director, Network Advertising); Pranav Premnarayen (partner, Prem Associates Advertising & Marketing); Sridhar Ramasubramanian (CFO, Matrix Publicities and Media India); Vikram Sakhuja (chief executive officer, South Asia, Group M); Umesh Shrikhande (chief executive officer, Contract Advertising India); and Srinivasan Swamy (managing director and chief executive officer, R K Swamy BBDO).
