Debashish Paul quits McCann to join Percept/H as COO

Paul, who is currently serving his notice period at McCann, will have a national role at Percept /H and will be responsible for six offices including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Lucknow.

Debashish Paul, executive vice-president and head, McCann Social has put in his papers and is all set to move to Percept /H as chief operating officer. At Percept/H, Paul will have a national role as COO and will manage six offices including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Lucknow.

"In my tenure of 12 years at McCann Erickson, I have played many roles from managing global brands such as Nestle, Mastercard, GM, Microsoft, HP, Coca-Cola and Reckitt Benckiser to heading the Delhi branch (2007-11) and taking up the challenge of steering the one-year-old unit McCann Social, apart from managing the Aircel, Perfetti and Dabur businesses. So I was now seeking a national role and this opportunity from Percept was perfect as apart from managing the advertising business, I will also take care of several other business units," says Paul.

Paul started his career with Bates (then known as Clarion) in 1986. He then moved to Lintas, where he worked on brands such as Philips, Panasonic, ITC cigarette brands, Tata Tea and DuPont. He then moved to Saatchi & Saatchi in 1994 as vice-president and head of the Delhi branch.
