In a bid to up its appeal among readers across age groups, New Delhi's Hindi daily, National Duniya has revamped its look and introduced changes in its offering.
The daily now sports a repositioned masthead, logo and layout designed by the in-house design team. It has also added a four-page city pullout and introduced two weekly supplements to its existing five.
Sandeip Vishnoi, chief operating officer, National Duniya tells afaqs! that the changes incorporated are part of the daily's normal plans triggered by the suggestions offered by readers and the ongoing work by the National Duniya team.
The four-page city pullout (Metro Ghaziabad, Metro Faridabad, Metro Gurgaon, Metro Noida) has been introduced to enhance National Duniya's reach in Delhi/NCR and offer its NCR readers a local flavour of news. Local advertisers too will be offered placement in the pullouts at nominal rates, according to the daily.
National Duniya has also introduced two new weekly supplements - Indradhanush and Baccho ki Duniya. Indradhanush will come out every Tuesday and cover metro city events, cultural programmes, spiritual activities and more. Baccho ki Duniya, as the name suggests, is a supplement for children that will be carried every Thursday. The supplement will cover stories, puzzles, poems and paintings among other content targeted at children.
The two supplements add to the existing five - Young March for the youth (every Monday), Humsafar for women (every Wednesday), healthcare supplement Kayakalp (every Friday), Bollywood-centric Rangoli (every Saturday) and the Sunday family magazine National Duniya that covers content on politics, cinema, lifestyle, events and social issues for all age groups.
With the changes, the earlier all-colour 16-page daily will now offer 20 pages (12-page main issue, four-page supplement and four-page city pullout). The cover price has been hiked by 50 paise and National Duniya is now priced at Rs 3.50 in the NCR and Rs 4.00 in Delhi.
On the development, Vishnoi says, "I am sure that the new outlook of National Duniya will be appreciated by our readers. I believe the reader is the best judge for any publication. According to the need and demand of readers and advertisers, we are open to change as we are committed to best quality newspaper for Delhi/NCR readers."
