Spikes Asia 2012: Shortlists for the remaining six categories announced

Of the total 247 shortlists in the six categories (Branded Content and Entertainment, Creative Effectiveness, Film, Film Craft, Integrated and Print and Poster Craft), 30 campaigns are from Indian agencies, many of these being shortlisted under multiple sub-categories.

Spikes Asia 2012 has completed its shortlist and announced the shortlisted entries for the remaining six categories. The shortlists for 10 categories were announced on Saturday, September 16.

In the list of 247 fresh shortlisted entries across six categories, 30 campaigns are from Indian agencies, many of these appearing in multiple sub-categories. The categories for which the shortlists were recently announced are Branded Content and Entertainment (31 shortlists), Creative Effectiveness (five shortlists), Film (68 shortlists), Film Craft (55 shortlists), Integrated (16 shortlists) and Print and Poster Craft (72 shortlists).

BBH India's Tanjore campaign for Google Chrome has been shortlisted under three sub-categories across Film and Film Craft. Taproot India's 'I am Mumbai' campaign for Mumbai Mirror has appeared in four sub-categories across Film and Film Craft, too. The film production companies for the two campaigns are Studio Eeksaurus and RDP India, respectively.

Also, Ogilvy & Mather's IPL Carnival campaign has won two shortlists under Film and Film Craft category, one each. The film was produced by Bang Bang Films India.

The Film category has three more shortlists from Indian agencies, including Contract Advertising for Morphy Richards/Juicers, produced by Code Red Films India; Taproot India's Cleavage campaign for Star/Fox, produced by Asylum Films; and DDB Mudra's film for Consumer Education Research Centre, produced by 7 films.

The Film Craft category, too, has three more shortlists from Indian agencies. These include JWT India's 'A day in the Life of' campaign for Times of India, produced by Good Morning Films. The film was shortlisted under two sub-categories. Also, Keroscene Films' MSM IPL campaign and McCann World group's Chlormint campaign were shortlisted.

For Print and Poster Craft category, all the Indian shortlists appeared in multiple sub-categories. Three of Leo Burnett's films for Bajaj Electricals appeared in the two sub-categories. Ogilvy & Mather's campaign for Mentos (three films) appeared under a single sub-category.

Again, in Print and Poster Craft, Taproot India's three films for Save Our Sisters, and the agency's three films for Nirma Bartan Bar appeared in one category each. Also, McCann Worldgroup's campaign for ATSS appeared in the shortlists.

For the Branded Content and Entertainment category, there was a single Indian shortlisted entry from Scarecrow Communications Mumbai. It was for Danone Narang's newly launched product, B'lue.

The single shortlist from an Indian agency in the Creative Effectiveness category was by BBDO India for Gillete.

The Integrated Campaigns category had two shortlists from Indian agencies, including BBDO India for Gillete and JWT India's 'A Day in the Life of' campaign for Times of India.

The results for the awards will be announced on September 19.
