Motivator appoints Rabe Iyer as managing partner
Iyer, who will also be a part of the GroupM managing committee, joins Motivator from Reliance Broadcast Network.
GroupM-promoted media agency Motivator has appointed Rabinder Thirumurthy, also known as Rabe Iyer, as managing partner. His new role is with immediate effect.
With almost two decades of experience, Iyer joins Motivator from Reliance Broadcast Network Limited after a stint that lasted for four years. At Reliance, after heading Big Street, the out of home division of the company, Iyer was appointed as business head for Big 92.7 FM's allied businesses in 2009.
Through his career, Iyer has had exhaustive experience in media, advertising and communication. He began his career selling space before taking up media planning at Enterprise. Later, he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, where he worked with the Procter & Gamble hair care team that launched Head & Shoulders.
Iyer has also worked extensively in the Vietnam market. He has held the position of country head, ZenithOptimedia Vietnam, Starcom MediaVest Vietnam and was also made a representative of Publicis Groupe Media, Vietnam.
During his stint as country head, Publicis Groupe Media Vietnam, the group grew to be the top media house and his team, working closely with the P&G marcom team, also brought home P&G's Global Award for Best Case Study for Insights for brand Rejoice.
