Star Plus travels across cities to gather wedding wishes

The four vans will travel across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra for one week to announce the wedding, interact with viewers and collect best wishes for the couple.

Maanvi and Viraat, characters from the show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai on Star Plus, will get married this October. In a bid to celebrate their wedding with viewers, the channel has executed an on-ground activation wherein a van travels to various cities, announces the wedding, interacts with viewers and collects best wishes for the couple.

As a part of the activation, four canter vans have been designed with show creatives that feature the two characters. In the on-ground activity, a massive Maanvi and Viraat wedding congratulatory card has been made, in which viewers can write personalised messages for the to-be-wed couple. They can also record messages for the couple.

A day before the wedding, these greeting cards will be unveiled in front of the couple in an event and the best messages will get to attend Viraat and Maanvi's wedding.

Nikhil Madhok, vice-president, marketing, Star Plus, says, "Maanvi is one of our most popular protagonists and after her battle with cancer, she is now moving on to a new phase in her life. Her journey is an inspiration to all on how you can overcome challenges. Hence we felt that it's important not only to celebrate this major event in her life in a big way but also give our viewers a chance to participate in the festivities. After all, they have supported her through the tough times."

The four vans have started their journey on September 30, which will conclude on October 7. The canter vans will travel across 13 cities such as Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Agra, Varanasi, Meerut, Nagpur, Nasik, Aurangabad and Pune.

Recently, Star Plus conducted a marketing activity for another show, Diya aur Baati Hum around Sooraj's (the main protagonist) victory in Singapore. The channel received messages from viewers wishing Sooraj and made them into promos. Also, a Vijay Yatra was organised with Sooraj in Delhi. It was attended by thousands of people and he made a special dish for the people present.
