Dentsu Communications bags creative mandate for TVS Wego

The agency will plan and execute campaigns for Wego over television and print. The Bengaluru office of the agency will handle the account.

TVS Motor company has appointed Dentsu Communications to handle the creative duties for its Wego brand of scooters. The company had called for a pitch for the brand in August. The Bengaluru office of the agency will handle the account.

Dentsu will plan and execute the campaign across television and print media and will work on various campaigns for Wego.

The incumbent agency on the account was BBH.

Commenting on the win, Arijit Ray, chief executive officer, Dentsu Communications, says, "TVS Wego is a great product and we look forward to work very closely with the brand team to carve out a distinctive communication position for the brand. Our team at Dentsu Communications, Bengaluru has the right mix of youth and experience, with significant exposure to the automotive category to build a robust integrated strategy for the brand."

In an official communiqué, H S Goindi, president, marketing, TVS Motor Company, says, "I eagerly look forward to a very fruitful and long term association with Dentsu Communication. We are confident that the team at Dentsu Communication, with its deep experience and understanding of automobile brands, will make its presence felt on Wego future campaigns."

For the record, TVS' product portfolio includes motorcycles (Apache RTR 180, Flame DS 125, Flame, TVS Jive, Star City, Sports), variomatic scooters (TVS Wego, Scooty Streak, Scooty Pep+, Scooty Teenz) and mopeds (TVS XL Super, TVS XL Heavy Duty).
