eBay India, the Indian arm of the international online shopping and auctions portal, has decided to switch to a new logo as part of the company's global transition process.
While the new logo retains the core elements such as the colour scheme of the earlier one, it is a little more toned down and cleaner compared to the earlier messy and overlapped look. The letters, however, continue to touch one another.
The company notes that "the vibrant eBay colours and touching letters represent the connected and diverse eBay community, which comprises more than 108 million active users and 25 million sellers globally."
Muralikrishnan B, country manager, eBay India, says in an official communiqué, "eBay has evolved and is much more than auction-style listings now. Today, most items sold on eBay are new and listed at a fixed price. With this new visual identity, we plan to reach out to even more Indian online shoppers, brands and entrepreneurs to bring the benefits of online shopping to them."
eBay India connects four million registered users and aids 30,000 sellers through the site annually. It has seven million live listings across 2,000 categories of products in electronics, lifestyle, collectibles and media verticals. In addition to merchants, brands and retailers also sell directly on eBay India.
