Amway India launches vinyl and leather cleaner

Amway India, an affiliate of Amway Corporation, USA, has launched what it claims to be India’s first leather and vinyl cleaner.

NEW DELHI, July 28

Amway India, an affiliate of Amway Corporation USA, on Thursday launched what it claims to be India's first leather and vinyl cleaner. Adding to Amway's existing product portfolio in the home care category, this abrasive-free liquid is applicable on all types of leather, vinyl, plastic and rubber materials. It is also suitable for cleaning car interiors. The product is available in 500ml packs through Amway distributors and priced at Rs 250 per pack.

Speaking at the launch of the leather and vinyl cleaner, William S. Pinckney, managing director and CEO, Amway India, said, "The launch of leather and vinyl cleaner re-affirms Amway India's commitment to locally manufacture and launch Amway's global brands in India. This ‘world class' product provides another high quality, value for money product to the Indian consumer."

Since it started operations in India about two years back, Amway India has grown to become the country's largest direct selling company. Till date the company has invested over Rs 151 crore in the country, of which Rs 26 crore was in the form of foreign direct investment.

Significantly, the company has provided Rs 17 crore worth of technology free of cost to three small-scale manufacturers, enabling them to manufacture Amway products. Every product sold under the company name is covered by a product refund policy, under which, the company gives a full refund to any consumer who is dissatisfied with its products. Amway Products are environment-friendly and are not tested on animals, claims the company.
