Shally Mukherjee, business director of Commonwealth Mumbai, has joined DDB Mudra Group as senior vice-president. She will be based at the agency's Mumbai office and will be in charge of FMCG, realty, tourism and corporate portfolios. She will report to
, president, DDB Mudra Group, Mumbai.

Mukherjee has worked with some leading advertising agencies. Having worked across categories, she has experience in dealing with regional multinational FMCG businesses.

Mukherjee began her career as area sales manager in Escorts in 1997. She then moved to A B and U Communications as senior accounts supervisor in 2000, from where she shifted to FCB Ulka (now Draft FCB Ulka) as account director in 2003. After a three-year stint, Mukherjee stepped into the role of client services director at JWT. She moved to Leo Burnett as vice-president and regional account director for P&G Asia Pacific in 2008. Her role entailed driving the P&G Femcare (Whisper, Natural and Discreet) business in the APAC market. Mukherjee says she was the brand agency leader, and led the shopper and digital partner agency teams and was one point of contact for all communication services of the brand.

In 2012, Mukherjee joined Commonwealth Mumbai as business director. Besides looking after global projects at Commonwealth, Mukherjee led the Chevrolet account for Korea.

Speaking on the development, Mukherjee says that DDB Mudra is undergoing a lot of changes; there will be space to try new things. "There is also a lot of organic growth, as the organisation wants people with expertise in leading not just ATL communication but also an integrated approach for its clients. And, I have lot of regional exposure and experience in handling global networks," she says.
