IBD India to handle branding for SSK Group

The agency will look after the brand communication of SSK LED lights.

IBD India, a Percept Hakuhodo company, has been appointed by SSK Group to take care of brand communication of its LED lights under the brand name SSK LED Lights and mobile accessories. The Group's media duties will be handled by Allied Media, the media arm of Percept.

The agency will take care of the SSK's brand identity, marketing and communication, BTVL and ATL engagements, advertising, digital marketing and so on.

Govind Uttamchandani, managing director, SSK Group, says, "IBD's understanding of our product, its market and eco system backed by its understanding of consumers made us comfortable. The creative approach that came aligned with its long term strategy sealed our choice."

Rahul Gupta, managing director, IBD India, says that LED Lights will be a game changer in the lighting industry and the agency's challenge will be to encourage its use by people, considering SSK Group is 'committed to making LED as one of its lead product lines'. Gupta adds that the Group's earlier ads were sales oriented and limited to western region of the country. "Now, they have gone national and the brand focus is different. SSK Group is keen of building the SSK brand and promote its high value feature products that are youth oriented," Gupta says.

Apart from LED lights, the SSK Group has diversified business activities such as distribution of branded mobiles, mobile accessories offering customised services in software development, retail, agriculture and real estate.
