Reliance is the first operator across India to enter into such a partnership with Twitter. Its GSM prepaid customers across the country can avail the new pack with unlimited Twitter access, without paying any extra data consumption charges.

Twitter has customised its Twitter app wherein every subscriber of the plan will be able to view a message on the header and footer of the app mentioning that Twitter is free of charge with Reliance Mobile. The app will pop up a message of additional data consumption charges only if the subscriber chooses to visit an external link while browsing updates on Twitter.

Nilanjan Mukherjee, chief revenue officer, wireless, Reliance Communications, says, "Our partnership with Twitter in India further strengthens our offering on the social media platform and is in line with our continuous efforts to offer innovative products with incredible affordability for our customers."

All existing Reliance GSM prepaid subscribers can subscribe to the 'Reliance Twitter Access Pack' by sending an SMS, 'ACT Twitter', to 53739 or by dialling *777*30# from their respective smartphones. They can also visit www.twitter.com or www.mobile.twitter.com from their mobile browsers.

Reliance Communications has a pan India network with over 130 million subscribers. It offers both mobile and fixed line telephone services. Its network covers more than 24,000 towns and 6,00,000 villages.
