Zee Marathi shuffles top management

Nikhil Sane, business head, Zee Marathi recently took over a new responsibility at the network's production division, while Deepak Rajadhyaksha (erstwhile programming head) replaces Sane.

The Marathi general entertainment channel (GEC) from the Zee stable, Zee Marathi has reshuffled its senior management. An old hand at the channel, Nikhil Sane, who's been with Zee Marathi for more than a decade, has moved on to handle film production, acquisition and distribution of Marathi movies under Essel Vision Productions.

Sane was erstwhile business head for the channel, and joined as executive vice-president more than 10 years ago. He will now report to Nittin Keni, CEO, Essel Vision.

Meanwhile, Deepak Rajadhyaksha, erstwhile programming head for the channel, will step into Sane's shoes as business head, Zee Marathi. Rajadhyaksha has spent more than eight years at the channel and will report to Sharada Sunder, executive vice-president, regional channels, ZEEL.

Before joining Zee, Rajadhyaksha was working in Marathi and Hindi theatre. He was a freelance writer and also directed plays. He was associated with Awishkar, one of the oldest theatre groups founded in 1071, for a long time.

Nilesh Mayekar, earlier fiction head, Zee Marathi, is promoted as programming head of the channel. He will report to Rajadhyaksha.
