Khazanchi joined the agency in 2007 and was given additional charge as vice-chairperson in 2010.

After completing post graduation from IIM-B in 1993, Khazanchi joined client servicing at Rediffusion-Y&R, where he worked for two years. He then started his own agency, Index Communications, but it folded up after two-and-a-half years. Khazanchi then forayed into the creative department of Contract, Kolkata. He moved to Ogilvy India after two years and also was associated with Publicis (Publicis India) and Rediffusion, Mumbai, for some time before coming on board Publicis Ambience.

Some of the brands he has associated with in his career include DNA newspaper (he worked on its launch in Mumbai), Tata Sky (Jhingalala) and Park Avenue.

Interestingly, last week, Publicis Worldwide announced the appointment of a new leadership team, wherein JWT's former chief creative officer and managing partner Bobby Pawar has been appointed director and chief creative officer, South Asia; while Partha Sinha, former managing partner, BBH, has joined as director and chief strategy officer, South Asia. Also, Zenith Optimedia's former chairperson Ambika Srivastava has been appointed director, marketing and new business, India. All three, who will be part of Publicis India's management board, will report to Nakul Chopra, CEO, South Asia, Publicis Worldwide.
