Getty Images appoints Nitin Lakhotia as director, India

Lakhotia moves in from IMG's consulting business in India.

Digital media company Getty Images has got on board Nitin Lakhotia as director for its India operations. Based in Mumbai, he will report to Glenn Parker, vice-president, sales, APAC, Getty Images.

Lakhotia will identify and develop growth opportunities beyond Getty Images' core traditional customer base and also lead the team.

The appointment is part of Getty Images' plan to enhance its APAC presence. Parker says, "Nitin brings a combination of experience, industry knowledge and energy to the team, and will play an integral role in the strengthening of Getty Images in India as we broaden our focus on India's burgeoning media sector."

Lakhotia has more than 15 years of experience across business consulting, telecom and media verticals and moves in from IMG's consulting business in India, which he established in 2008. He has also worked with companies such as Tata Teleservices, Reliance Infocomm, Bharti Airtel and ESPN-STAR Sports.

For the record, Getty Images is a creator and distributor of still imagery, video and multimedia products and boasts of a portfolio of properties, including iStockphoto and Thinkstock. Recently, Pradeep Mittur was appointed as head of business development, Asia Pacific, at Getty Images.
