Music label T-Series has said that the brand's YouTube channel has crossed the one billion video views on the platform. The channel (www.youtube.com/tseries) was launched just over two years ago and now has more than 2.3 million subscribers.
T-Series is now the second Indian channel to cross one billion views on YouTube, after Rajshri Productions. To recall, in May 2012, Rajshri Productions' YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/rajshri) had become the first Indian channel to serve one billion videos on YouTube. However, the Rajshri channel has only 840,627 subscribers on its list.
Among the most subscribed YouTube channels in India, T-Series is at the top with 2,361,469 people as subscribers. Sony Entertainment Television India's channel is at No. 2 with 1,922,454 subscribers. They are followed by Eros Now at No. 3, Yash Raj Films at No. 4 and Rajshri at No. 5.
According to SocialBakers.com data, T-Series has uploaded 6219 pieces of video content so far crossing total views of 1,003,453,699. T-Series' official YouTube channel offers Bollywood song videos, audio juke boxes, lyrical videos, Bollywood twisters, behind the scenes, and making of films/songs/videos.
Apart from mainstream Bollywood channel, T-Series also has many sub-channels on YouTube like Apna Punjab for Punjabi Pop, Hamaar Bhojpuri for Bhojpuri content, Bhakti Sagar for spiritual music, Pop Chartbusters for Indipop videos, Shabad for Punjabi devotional content, Bollywood Classics for 1980's and 1990's content, Regional Music Channel and channels dedicated to full length Bollywood movies and Indian classical music.
Commenting on the milestone achieved, Anthony Zameczkowski, head of music partnerships, YouTube APAC, says, "The internet is the global distribution channel of the future and T Series' recent momentum is a great example of how music labels are using YouTube to innovate online and find new audiences around the world."
