Havas wins digital media duties of LG India

Havas Media has bagged the digital media planning and buying duties for LG India. Though we could not get an official statement on this from either side, highly placed sources in the industry have confirmed the development to afaqs!. Earlier, the account was being handled by MEC Interaction.

The development comes close on the heels of LG Electronics consolidating its entire creative business with GIIR Communications India, also known as LG Ad. The agency's Delhi branch was mandated to handle the account.

LG Ad was also mandated to handle all digital duties for LG Electronics. Earlier, the social media and online reputation management duties were managed by Hungama Digital Media, while the SEO mandate was with NetBiz.

In 2011, Publicis Modem won LG's global digital business. The business was earlier handled in-house and by various digital agencies in different markets, appointed on a local basis. In 2012, Reprise Media was awarded this digital mandate of LG in India, following a multi-agency pitch, for each of its product lines. The scope of work included creative services and production, product website development and providing ideas across social media and activations.

In March, LG's erstwhile chief marketing officer L K Gupta left the company to join Pilani Soft Labs' redBus.in as CMO.
