Life OK pushes ahead of SAB and Sony

Life OK had launched Gustakh Dil in Week 32 that helped it shoot up in the Hindi GEC hierarchy. All the other shows of the channel too saw growth in numbers.

Life OK, the second rung Hindi general entertainment channel from STAR India stable, has pushed ahead of Multi Screen Media's Hindi GECs, Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV, to occupy the fourth spot in the Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) hierarchy.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S , 4+) provided by a TAM subscriber, Life OK garnered 315728 GVT (gross viewership in thousands) in Week 32 as compared to 241661 GVT in the previous week. The channel had launched a new fiction show on August 5 at the 7.30 pm slot that rated 1884 TVTs (television viewership in thousands) in the launch week. It replaced Amrit Manthan that delivered 899 TVTs in the last week of its telecast.

Not only this, all the shows of Life OK have seen a rise in viewership. The biggest gainers of the channel were Shapath that fetched 3088 TVTs (last week 2477) and Savdhan India that registered 2867 TVTs (last week 2471).

It is pertinent to note here that according to a TAM subscriber, Bihar 1mn+ has been added back into the universe as it has attained the requisite digital penetration as per the standards.

Meanwhile, Star Plus continues to remain at the top with 505715 GVT, down from 509558 GVT in the last week. The channel had aired IIFA Awards (International Indian Film Academy Awards) on August 10, which notched 5996 TVTs, making the show the eighth most watched in Week 32. Three other shows of the channel have witnessed presence in the top 10 shows' list.

Maintaining its second lead is Colors that closed the week with 437766 GVTs. Last week the channel had grossed 458633 GVTs. Two of the channel's shows featured in the top shows' list.

Zee TV held onto the third spot and grossed 424270 GVTs in this week. It had recorded 369691 GVTs in the last week. The channel had aired a special episode of Qubool Hai on Eid that rated 5819 TVTs and was the ninth most watched show in the Hindi GEC space. One more show of the channel was in the top viewed shows' list.

Sony remained the fifth ranked Hindi GEC. Last week the channel was displaced from the fourth spot by its sister channel SAB TV, which has slipped to No. 6 this week. Sony further fell from 321951 GVTs in Week 32 to 300573 GVTs in Week 31 of TAM, while SAB TV lost 24185 GVTs to register 298326 GVTs. SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma was in the top shows' list.

Sahara One with 32326 GTVs (last week 36400) remained at the bottom of the ladder.

Among the most watched shows, at No. 1 is Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum that notched 10356 TVTs (last week 10393) in this week. It is followed by Zee TV's Qubool Hai that rated 7188 TVTs (last week 7250).SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma took the next spot with 7032 TVTs (last week 8218).

Meanwhile, occupying the fourth spot is Colors' reality show Comedy Nights With Kapil which is the most watched non-fiction show on Indian television with 6831 TVTs, 752 TVTs less from the last week's ratings. Ranked at No.5 is Colors' Balika Vadhu that clocked 6644 TVTs (last week 7340 TVTs).

No.6 is taken by Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard with 6233 TVTs (last week 6141), followed by Saathiya Saath Nibhana with 5525 TVTs (last week 5815) and IIFA Awards.

The special Qubool Hai episode on Eid took the ninth spot with 5819 TVTs while Dance India Dance Supermoms rated 5551 TVTS in the week ended August 10.
