The report utilises data from the comScore suite of products and provides an overview of the Indian market. It identifies the prevailing trends in web usage, online video, social networking and online advertising.

According to the comScore report titled '2013 India Digital Future in Focus', at 73.9 million home and work internet users, the Indian online population currently ranks as the 3rd largest in the world after China and the US. With 75 per cent of its internet users under the age of 35, India has the youngest skewing online population among BRIC countries. However, the report doesn't take the mobile users of the country into account.

The other key insights from the report are:

Across all age and gender groups, women between the ages of 35-44 years are the heaviest internet users in the Indian market.

The Indian audience of blogs grew 48 per cent in the past year to 36 million visitors, while 26 per cent of category traffic comes from mobile phones and tablets.

With 25 per cent time being spent on social networking, the activity grabs the largest share of PC screen time in the country. Besides this, email and internet messaging hold a significant time, too.

Fifty four million internet users in India watched online videos on their computer, representing a 27-per cent increase over the past year.
