Emvies 2013: And the Grand Emvie goes to ibs

Hindustan Unilever wins the Best Media Client of the Year award.

At the 13th edition of the All Indian Awards for excellence in media - The Emvies 2013 - organised by The Advertising Club, ibs walked away with the Grand Emvie.

ibs won the coveted award for its Hyper Personalisation campaign for Tata Docomo - the world's first CRM-powered campaign on social media in the Best Media Innovation - Digital (Social Media) category. In the overall agency tally list, ibs stood seventh, with 65 points (three gold awards).

Hindustan Unilever won the Best Media Client of the Year award (120 points). Last year's winner Cadbury India (now a unit of Mondelez) finished second this time with 85 points.

Three 'People's Choice Awards' (based on audience votes) were given away, one for each day. The nominated agencies presented their case studies at Mumbai's Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research.

The People's Choice Award for the best case study presented on August 21 went to Lodestar UM for its radio campaign for Saridon, called Saridon National Headache Reliever, in the Best Media Innovation - Radio category.

The People's Choice Award for the best case study presented on August 22 went to Madison Media Infinity for its Engineering Recommendations campaign for Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil, in the Best On-going Media campaign category.

The People's Choice Award for the best case study presented on August 23 went to Madison Media Pinnacle for its 'Breathe the Change' innovation for Halls in the Best Integrated campaign - Consumer Products category.

Mindshare won the Best Media Agency of the Year award; no surprises there! This is the sixth consecutive year the agency has won this award. Beating last year's 160, this time Mindshare got 165 points, overall.

Mindshare's Farah Siddiqui won the Young Emvie of the Year award for Close Up, Pepsodent, Domex and CIF.

The following agencies were recognised under the 'Best Use of a Bollywood Celebrity in Media' category (powered by Zoom): Mindshare (Brooke Bond Red Label - Red Label Health Challenge; Ponds White Beauty Facewash - Alia Bhatt Comes To The Rescue; and Active Wheel - Tiger Ne Ghumaya Entertainment Ka Wheel), DDB Mudra Max (Nirmal - Marks For Sports) and Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (Discovery Channel's Association With YRF's Jab Tak Hai Jaan).

For the record, last year's Grand Emvie went to Madison Media Infinity for its Saffola life-saving Private Heart campaign.

The Emvies is India's most prestigious media awards show where breakthrough innovations in Indian media are recognised.
