Sony has slipped back to No. 6, while Life Ok climbed to the fourth spot. Surprisingly, none of the shows of Life OK figured among the 10 most watched shows of the week.

For a couple of months now, Sony is finding it tough to hold its fort against SAB TV (its own sibling) and Life OK (a second rung GEC from Star India). Following this recent trend, Life OK is back at the fourth position, displacing Sony, which is now at No. 6.

As per TAM data (HSM, C&S, 4+, including LC1 markets) provided by a subscriber, Life OK collected 334306 GVTs in the week ended September 29. This is not the first time that Life OK, which was launched in December 2011, has grabbed the fourth position. Surprisingly, the channel has not marked any of its shows in the top 10 list.

The Mahasangam of Do Dil Ek Jaan and Kaise Yeh Ishq Hai telecast on Wednesday, September 25, garnered 1809 TVTs.

Along with Life OK, SAB TV is the biggest gainer in Week 39. While Life OK grew by about 21000 TVTs, SAB TV grew its viewership by about 40000 GVTs, compared to that in Week 38. SAB TV stood at No. 5 with 331772 GVTs. Its flagship show, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, ranked as the second most watched show in the week.

Star Plus continued to lead the GEC flock with 506317 GVTs, down from last week's numbers. The channel's four properties are in the most watched shows' list.

Following Star Plus is Colors with 458409 GVTs, decreasing ratings as compared to Week 38. The channel was in news when its recently popular show, Comedy Nights with Kapil's set caught fire. Nonetheless, the show, along with Baalika Vadhu, is a part of the top ten programmes' list in Week 39.

At No. 3 is Zee TV that closed the week with 384111 GVTs. The channel could manage to push two of its shows to the top shows' list.

Sony, following at the sixth spot after Life Ok and SAB, gathered 286083 GVTs. Its oldest popular show, CID, appeared in the most watched shows list in Week 39.

STAR Utsav closed the week with 100702 GVTs, followed by Sahara One with 26838 GVTs, both remaining at the bottom of the Hindi GEC chart.

Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum retains its position of being the most watched show on Indian television with 9641 TVTs in Week 39. It was followed by SAB TV's flagship property, Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma that gathered 8096 TVTs.

Zee TV's latest historical show, Jodha Akbar stood as the third most watched show in Week 39 with 8027 TVTs. Colors' Baalika Vadhu and Star Plus' Pyar Ka Dard notched 7797 TVTs and 7191 TVTs, respectively.

Meanwhile, Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana held on to the sixth spot as it recorded 7101 TVTs. Following these is Colors' latest hit, Comedy Nights with Kapil, which garnered 6804 TVTs.
At No. 8 is the top rated show of Star Plus, Mahabharat, with 5518 TVTs. Zee TV's Qubool Hai and Sony's CID clocked 5511 TVTs and 5505 TVTs, respectively.

For the record, TVT is television viewership in 1000s (TVR in 1000). It is the average number of individuals in '000s that are available at any given minute of a programme/day part that is under consideration. It captures growth in TV audiences in the country in absolute numbers. The TVR system, in contrast, works on percentages.
