Activeark JWT India gets digital reinforcements from its Finnish headquarters

Digital advertising agency Activeark JWT's India office will receive an addition to its digital expertise from the company's Finnish headquarters. Finnish senior interactive developer Markus Meyer will join the company's India office this month. Meyer will assist the India office in digital planning and service design.

Meyer's immediate responsibilities at Activeark JWT India will include taking up the production management, functioning as an additional contact point between the company's India offices and abroad and assisting in digital planning and service design for its clients.

In July 2012, the Finland-based digital agency Activeark was acquired by JWT, which is part of WPP. JWT took a majority share in Activeark, and merged its staff of 80 with JWT Helsinki's staff of 30 to become Activeark JWT. Activeark, founded in 2003, already has offices in Helsinki, London and Mumbai and works with clients that include Hartwall, Nokia and Marimekko.

The India office of the agency is led by the managing director Siddhartha Vinchurkar who has been with the agency since it started the India operations in 2010. The Indian office handles the Technology Support and Platform Consultancy for the global website, social media and SEO for the Finnish telecom brand Nokia Siemens Network.

"Digital is the present and digital is the future. Having worked with Markus on a few projects, I'm more than happy to have him here," states Siddhartha Vinchurkar.

Meyer says, "On a more personal note, I'm looking forward to getting to know Indian culture, cuisine and, of course, as an avid photographer, visit as many places as I can. Furthermore, I will work as a contact point to our offices in Helsinki and London."

Meyer has played a big part in Activeark JWT's technology projects since joining the agency in 2008. Currently, the agency employs around 100 experts in digital, design, tech and business across the globe.
