The outgoing agency on the account is Starcom MediaVest that was handling the account for the past eight years.

Motivator met Essilor around four months ago and following the pitch process bagged the account. The account will be serviced by the agency's Bengaluru office.

The agency will commence work on the account from December 1. It has already put a team in place to service Essilor.

Rabe T Iyer, managing partner, Motivator, Group M, says, "Essilor is a prestigious account win. Eye-wear and lenses is a very prominent and growing category and we are looking forward to work on it. The account is very planning-driven and will bring all our strategic thinking into place. Essilor's offering is very wide, cutting across various needs and audiences, hence a need for a compelling communication vision that connects and is efficient. It offers us immense scope to be inventive and bring fresh thinking to market Essilor lenses. Besides, enhancing peoples' vision adds to the enthusiasm. We are looking forward to demonstrate our superior product to meet these opportunities and challenges. It's going to be very interesting and enriching to influence consumers to get involved in lenses, which earlier used to be rather a push from opticians."

According to Iyer, Bengaluru is a growing market for Motivator as the agency is also handling clients like Kalyan Jewellers and Himalaya. Essilor's account win further strengthens the portfolio of the agency.

"Thanks to our clients such as Havells, Kalyan Jewellers and other successful innovators, who have been party to our enhanced media product, we have had 15 wins in the last 12 odd months, including Himalaya and Quick Heal (India and international digital duties) quite recently," he adds.
