M K Anand calls it quits at Disney UTV
M K Anand, managing director of Disney UTV Media Networks, has put in his papers at the company.

While there is no official confirmation from the company, sources reveal that December 31 is his last day at Disney UTV. His next venture remains unknown.

This is the second top level exit from the company in the last two months. In October this year, managing director and UTV founder-promoter Ronnie Screwvala resigned, vacating the position that was filled by Siddharth Roy Kapur, effective January 1, 2014. Kapur was earlier heading the motion pictures business of the company.

Anand joined UTV Global Broadcasting in 2009 as CEO (before UTV was acquired by Disney). At that time, UTV Global Broadcasting was operating four channels - Bindass, Bindass Movies (now UTV Action), UTV Movies and UTV World Movies. After the acquisition in February 2012, he was appointed managing director of Disney UTV Media Networks.

Before joining UTV, he had also worked for BCCL as business head of Zoom, the Bollywood entertainment channel of the group. Earlier, he had worked at BCCL's Response.
