The latest season will feature 16 kids who will compete for the title of Kids' Champion, without audience voting.

While general entertainment channels today are overflowing with a variety of dance reality shows, Sony Entertainment Television is bringing back what can be called the first of the genre, Boogie Woogie. While there are a few changes in the format, the biggest change is in the quality of contestants, claims the channel. In another interesting decision, the 17-year old property has also decided to keep out audience voting during this season. Aloka Guha, VP and head, non-fiction programming, Sony says that the channel wanted to keep the grain of the show focused on dance rather than popularity.

"It's amazing to know that the audience follow the show and love the contestants but the decision of eliminating any dancer from the competition should be solely based on dance and that's what we want to do," seconds Naved Jafri, one of the three judges and a producer of the show.

The new season of the show will start on December 7; the show will be aired on Saturdays and Sundays at 8.30 pm. The auditions have been conducted in 10-12 cities.

The format of the show has been tweaked to retain eyeballs. Earlier, all participants performed for a week and one winner was awarded at the end of each week. However, this time, the participants will compete with each other over three months across 30 episodes, with one contestant being eliminated every Sunday. The winner stands to win prize money of Rs 10 lakh and the coveted Boogie Woogie Kids Champion trophy.

The same set of choreographers will train all the contestants, says the channel. Produced by R&N Productions, Boogie Woogie Kids Championship's new season will once again have the trio, Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jafri and Ravi Behl, as the judges. The show will be hosted by Sargun Mehta and 12-year old Rakshit Wahi of Parvarrish fame.

Jaaferi is confident that all the people who have followed the show in the previous seasons will definitely sample this season.
