In his new role, Ram will spearhead marketing of brands and the agency in various regions. Ram has been brought on board at a time when Global Advertisers is spreading its business in Tier II and III cities. Ram will handle market research and increase sales of outdoor inventories.
On the appointment, Gupta says, "Outdoor industry is undergoing tremendous change. Brands are now exploring new opportunities to tap consumers of Tier II and Tier III cities. Therefore, to cope up with the increasing demand, we have roped in several senior professionals and young talent, this year. Now, we have Sudhendu on our board to maximise our reach and improve the quality of our service."
Ram comments that he is excited to have the new challenge. "My aim is to take Global to the next level of media engagement through my understanding of media and expertise in terms of networking and knowledge," he says.
Having an experience of seven years in the industry, Ram has also worked at GroupM earlier.
Global Advertisers was founded by MM Mithaiwala, the confectionary superstore in Malad, in 1996. The agency's forte is outdoor media, including hoardings, mobile vans, taxi, bus shelter, Z-boxes, street furniture, fleet graphics, digital displays at malls and multiplexes, ferries, amusement parks, airplanes, swimming pools and rest rooms. Besides brands, the agency also markets Bollywood and Hollywood films.
