Channel V to launch more bi-weekly shows

The channel will launch 'Jhalli Anjali Ke Tootey Dil Ki Amazing Story' and 'Yeh Jawani Ta Ra Ri Ri' in April. Season 2 of 'The Buddy Project' will be launched on April 2, in a bi-weekly format.

In November 2013, the youth entertainment channel from STAR India, Channel V, had donned a new look, along with a new strategy to air bi-weekly shows.

In continuation of the effort to strengthen the new positioning, the channel will launch two more bi-weekly shows - 'Jhalli Anjali Ke Tootey Dil Ki Amazing Story' and 'Yeh Jawani Ta Ra Ri Ri'. The shows will be launched on April 28 and 30, respectively. The bi-weekly shows will be aired at a new time band, 5.30 pm. While Jhalli Anjali will be telecast every Monday and Tuesday, Yeh Jawani...will be aired every Wednesday and Thursday.

Besides, the second season of 'The Buddy Project' will also go on air as a bi-weekly show. Starting May 2, it will be aired every Friday and Saturday at the same time slot.

Prem Kamath, general manager and channel head, Channel V, says, "We are excited about the new innings at Channel V, which has been born out of extensive research of our audience. Our viewers today have a shorter attention span, and they like experimenting and sampling a variety of new shows. Hence the new shows will be shorter, season-based ones, and we are excited about the disruptive attempt at scheduling by airing the new shows as bi-weeklies."

'Jhalli Anjali Ke Tootey Dil Ki Amazing Story' takes the audience through the protagonist Anjali's journey of healing and self-discovery after her first breakup; while 'Yeh Jawani Ta Ra Ri Ri' is the story of coming-of-age of three brothers and their relationship as they face the new realities of life.

According to the channel, both shows have been designed with Channel V's focus on the country's youth, and the new brand thought of 'What feels so right, can't be wrong'.

Besides Channel V's flagship shows, 'Gumrah' and 'Dil Dosti Dance - D3', the channel also airs bi-weeklies such as 'Sadda Haq', 'Paanch - Don't get Mad, Get Even', 'Confessions of an Indian Teenager' and 'It's Complicated'. The four bi-weekly shows were launched when the channel announced inclusion of this format in its line-up.

For the record, in July 2012, Channel V had dropped its music content to become a youth GEC. It dressed up with a new logo, novel tagline and a fresh new line up on November 25, 2013. The current logo has a fold on top left with 'All New' written on it. The baseline this time says 'Correct Hai!'.
