Phanse will be based at the channel's head office in Belapur, Mumbai. He will report to Chandramohan Puppla, business head, Saam TV.

Phanse says, "I feel proud to have joined Saam TV and hence Sakal Media Group, which has an old network of reporters and is spread widely in Maharashtra. My perception about Saam TV has always been that it is a much more credible organisation. Moreover, there is a synergy with the different media, be it print or TV, of the Sakal Media Group."

Bringing in around 15 years of experience in print and electronic media, Phanse was associated with Jai Maharashtra in his last stint. He was one of the founding members of the channel and was the editor at the organisation.

Phanse also founded a Marathi portal called Bharat4india.com, which is a rural online network. Before joining Jai Maharashtra, he had also worked with CNN-IBN, IBN Lokmat, Zee News, NDTV and Alpha Marathi, where he has worked in various editorial capacities.

Founded in 2008, Saam TV, a Marathi entertainment channel, aims to bring to light the vibrant attitude of the young generation through its interesting stories. Launched by Pune-based Sakal Media Group, its programming primarily consists of family dramas, cookery shows, news and movies.
