Ogilvy India that also handles the creative duties for STAR will handle the much talked about Indian Super League.

Ogilvy India will handle the creative duties for the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL), the first edition of which will be held between September and November.

ISL is promoted by IMG Reliance and STAR India under the aegis of All India Football Federation.

The idea behind the league is to promote the game of football among the Indian masses.

There are a total of eight league partners for the game, including the Bengaluru franchise owned by the Sun Group; Delhi by Sameer Manchanda-led Den Network; Goa by Venugopal Dhoot, chairman, Videocon Industries, Dattaraj Salgaocar, MD, VM Salgaocar and Bro, and Shrinivas V Dempo, chairman, Dempo Group; Guwahati by John Abraham, Bollywood actor and Shillong Lajong, Football Club; Kochi by Sachin Tendulkar, former Indian cricketer and PVP Ventures; Kolkata by Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricketer, Harshavardhan Neotia, chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group, Atletico Madrid, Spanish football club, Sanjeev Goenka, vice-chairman, RPG Enterprises and Utsav Parekh, non-executive, non-independent chairman, SMIFS Capital Markets; Mumbai by Ranbir Kapoor, Bollywood actor and Bimal Parekh, chartered accountant; and Pune by Salman Khan, Bollywood actor with Kapil Wadhawan and Dheeraj Wadhawan of the Wadhawan Group.

The league partners were announced in April.

For the record, the creative duties of STAR India are handled by Ogilvy India.

ISL is an attempt to revive football in India.
