Agrawal is set to join Reliance Industries. However, his exact role at RIL is still unknown.

He tweeted about his movement, saying, "Delighted to share my move to Team #RIL. Thank you Team @ZeeNews".

Agrawal had joined Zee News in October 2012, replacing Barun Das, who quit the company after a stint of five years.

Agrawal has around 24 years of experience in advertising, branding, communication and marketing. He started his career as a sales manager at Blowplast in May 1990. He moved on from the company to join Grey Worldwide, India as an account director and worked with the agency for more than four years.

In 1997, he joined Euro RSCG India as account director. In 1998, he went back to Grey, this time as associate vice-president. After his second stint with Grey, which was for five years, he moved to Bates to head the North region business of the agency. He was designated executive vice-president at Grey and worked there till July, 2008.

Just before joining Zee, he was with Cheil Worldwide Southwest Asia as chief operating officer. He headed the Southwest Asia operations of Cheil's global network. Over a period of four years, he is credited with building a cross-functional, fully integrated communication agency.

During his stint with Zee, the Hindi news channel went through a rebranding exercise. In July 2013, Zee News announced that it had embraced a new philosophy along with a new identity. As a part of its global identity, Zee Media Corporation also adopted a new tagline, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The World is my family'.

In 2013, the channel again announced a transformation. Zee News revamped to build a more contemporary and dynamic image without compromising on the seriousness of authentic news. Through 'Khabrein Aapke Rangon Mein' (a nationwide campaign launched during the revamp), Zee News aimed to reach out to the youth who are confident and bristling with attitude, through the concept of 'Soch Badlo Desh Badlo'.

The news channel caters to the Gen - Y group, which is connected through technology and consumes instant information and news.
